On a more “down east note” Sydney starts a new H.O.G. Chapter. Dave Armsworthy and Joe Blanchard (formerly from the Halifax B.R.O.) head of the group.

Laurie Bell, one of our former directors, now becomes the first Atlantic Regional H.O.G. Director and we now have our own Canadian Demo Ride tractor trailer.

It’s the beginning of a new year, Jan. 1990, and some new purpose to the group. It has been decided that we choose a charity to raise money for. After a brief meeting and the show of hands, Everett Turner’s nomination of “The Children’s Wish Foundation” is chosen.

The mid winter blues have set in and why not share these “blues” with someone else? Sounds like a good idea so we decide to have a Winter Blues Party, featuring none other than our local blues kind himself, Dutchie Mason, who played to a sold crowd at our host hotel.

Communication from Deeleys asks that Chapter Rockers be worn only at H.O.G. events.

End of 1990, Dennis Gionet plays Santa with a gift to the group of a wooden, glass front display case to house our now numerous awards and tokens of appreciation. The group sends a Christmas message by video to Neil Dealhoy stationed aboard H.M.C.S. Terra Nova which is deployed overseas in support of Operation Friction. Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to all!
January 1991, the beginning of a New Year, but still unfinished business of “back patches” arises. A letter from Vancouver H.O.G. says we took off our back patches as requested. Correspondence from a well established motorcycle club to Deeley’s asked that all rockers be removed. Deeleys says no more large rockers will be printed or sold.

H.O.G. Canada sent questionnaires asking what members expect to get out of their membership.

It’s show time again, for the second year in a row Central Chapter Nova Scotia enters Dartmouth Kinsmen Motorama as a group display. Last year we won several bike awards this year along with the individual awards H.O.G. as a group snatches the coveted Best Group Display out of the hands of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
With summer in the air, congratulations are in order, as the group is told of possible future members being born to Jim & Jennette Costen and John & Sylvia Greenough.

It’s June 1991, the results are now in from the regional votes for the honor of hosting the Labour Day Regional Rally. In fifteen months time we are going to show H.O.G. that we can put on one hell of a party and have fun doing it.

The annual Run for the Hills is changing location this year, wondering to find a bigger area to party as the event grows larger.

Central Chapter N.S. packs up and heads for Moncton N.B. for the Regional Labour Day Rally, where a good time is had by all. Our riding and event skills are shown once again as we bring home yet another Chapter Challenge Award.
